Empowerment of Dayal family
Integrated in 2017, the Dayal family residing in Residence Barkly, is living one of the most memorable moments of their accompaniment in Lovebridge: their empowerment. The whole family is present, as well as Annabelle and Stéphanie, the Lovebridge team which has provided them support since their integration in the project.Share on

National Accompagnateurs Event
For the first time, Lovebridge has invited all its volunteers (accompagnateurs) to a national meeting. The event was held at the St Joseph College on the 11th May to create the opportunity to meet and share about experiences as volunteers accompanying beneficiary families. Volunteers have a pivotal role in the accompaniment of families by reinforcing the social inclusion and relational aspects. They bring a major contribution to the process leading to the empowerment of beneficiary families.Share on

Nettoyage à Rivière-Noire
Les enfants jouent au milieu des détritus, ce qui provoque des problèmes respiratoires et dermatologiques. Face à cette situation, un groupe de jeunes bénévoles dynamiques a pris l’initiative d’une belle action citoyenne. Ils ont mobilisé les familles et leur ont donné rendez-vous pour enclencher le nettoyage du terrain. Parents, enfants, bénévoles et l’équipe de Lovebridge de Rivière-Noire ont “marié piqué” pour enlever le maximum de détritus.Share on

A Place to call Home
Housing is one of the six pillars on which Lovebridge focuses in its empowerment process. Living in precarious conditions reinforce the feelings of exclusion, solitude and self-stigmatisation. How can one feel empowered, when the walls which are supposed to protect one’s family are falling apart? Everyone has the right to a decent place to live which one can call Home. But this is not the case for many Mauritian families.Share on

Our caring relationship draws the attention of the media
The caring relationship among Mauritians: humble, simple and humane. That is what prompted several press organisations in Mauritius to write about Lovebridge. Several Mauritian print media, namely Essentielle, l’Express, Le Défi, Koze, have shown their interest in those personal stories where the beneficiaries have been able to develop life projects with the support of their Lovebridge sidekicks and social workers.Share on
